Apart from the nearby 18th century Picturesque Hafod
landscape, among other visits within a drive, they could include that of:
- The Llanerchaeron gentry estate at Aberaeron, with
parkland and permissive paths, and garden owned by the
National Trust.
- The beautiful Cae Hir gardens and tea room at Cribyn near
Lampeter make an inspiring morning or afternoon out.
- Powis castle and garden, near Welshpool, another National Trust property, will make a grand day out –(one and a half hour drive).
- A drive south will bring you to Aberglasney, the subject of a major archaeological restoration scheme.
- Middleton Hall, the National Botanic Garden of Wales, site of the world’s largest single span glasshouse. This garden is worth a visit but is a one and a half hour drive south
