Today this traditional country inn offers guests wishing to escape modern life an opportunity to stay in comfortable and relaxing surroundings in one of our five tastefully decorated ensuite bedrooms.
We offer a traditional home cooked menu using high quality locally sourced produce which is served in either the non-smoking restaurant or the traditional bar.

The Black Lion Hotel is noted for its selection of beers, wines and spirits, including lovingly maintained real ales, and an excellent selection of malt whiskeys, which can be enjoyed in the bar with its ancient beamed ceiling Black Lion Public Barand open log fire.
We pride ourselves on having no piped music, television, jukeboxes, gaming machines or other distractions.
The hotel is now under new management. It has been taken over by Dominic & Claire Ward, who have twenty years catering experience and pride themselves on fine dining. All our dishes are home made, and food is served every day between 12pm and 9pm. All tastes and pockets are catered for, but if there is anything you would like, you can write your own personalised menu and we will source the ingredients for you. In short you tell us what you want and we will do our best to do it!
